Topic: hp tx2

Hey just so everyone knows, I was looking for a small laptop that could handle games around september, and I was almost set on getting hte n10 but then, I changed my mind at the last second and got the hp tx2. All I have to say is that it has really been superb, especially for the money I payed, for only a little over seven hundred this thing has 4 gigs of ram, has a 2.3 ghz processor and honestly just has performed excellently. I play team fortress two all the time on its highest settings and there are no problems whatsoever. Other such games as garrys mod and halflife two have presented no problems whatsoever, a friend of mine plays cod4 on his with a few settings turned down a little but still great results. Also the tablet function is great for movies and its actually not too shabby for drawing. (a bit of a low scale wacom tablet) all in all the only main problem is the battery life which on it's power saver mode realistically (while playling some N64 mods on an airplane =P) only gets you about 3 and a half hours. But the size and weight make tossing it in your back pack and taking it to a friend's house for some gaming easy as can be.

Re: hp tx2

the spec on this notebook looks nice but i have read alot of bad reviews on it with heat problems, noisy fan and wifi problems.

also not sure on the gpu on this how it compares to the 9300m gs.

i love my n10 so far it plays every game i want on it and heat is not a issue and the 9 cell battery lasts maybe 5 hours on max settings which is plenty for me.

the pop out remote and stylus pen is pretty cool also the dvd drive built in is pretty  nice too but i get along fine with my usb dvd drive which i barely use.

Re: hp tx2

ya the only problems i have had is that sometimes it is a little noisey, but its only when i play games and im wearing headphones then so its never a problem. ya i dont really use this in the way most use the n10 i mainly use it at home, i travel a lot, and for lan parties, but i wouldnt wanna use it on the bus for instance. btw heat has never been an issue and iit has not over heated and crashed once

Re: hp tx2

I am no expert on gaming period, however the only computer i have seen talked about here at this forum has been the new alienware (?) mx11 that i would consider buying, battery is not life not quite as good as n10, but has switchable graphics. i hate DELL business model and fear they will frick it up as - they are known for - in any other product they have ever developed.  I have no faith in hp/compaq cause after the sale, you as a customer, are not worth poopie.   tongue

However, even i am considering the new alienware gaming computer, but,  i will hold off until the end of 2010, cause there is a bunch of great caca in netbooks etc... that is going to hit the market that will put all the present models to shame.  As much as i hate to say it ASUS makes some (if not the best) computers on the planet.  Customer service is iffy at times, but still superior to all the rest of the computer makers.  If they were really good, they would design the best components on the planet, and reduce their product lines both laptop and desktops etc... down to a more manageable and profitable design level. i love asus and sometimes i hate them.  Still i have not found a better computer design company period .    smile   big_smile   cool   I love my n10 and it is going to take a miracle computer to get me to get something different.   smile
