Topic: Ubuntu 9.10 NBR

Hi Ya'll!

Just DL'd this and tried it out. Its a beautiful little package with one fatal flaw, for me anyways. HDMI Sound is not supported yet. I did a few google search's and all I couldnt find were ppl saying its a driver issue and to be patient.

Other then that it is sweet. It's clean, has easily installed software packages and is easily tailored to your needs.

For your webcam I reccomend Cheese, use your synaptics packagemanager, then you don't have to SUDO.

Excellent , I am installing everything right now. Fingers crossed. If all goes well I will use it as a home media system for 1 TV then eventually a networked system for home entertainment & file storage.

Re: Ubuntu 9.10 NBR

Hello,
I´d like to ask, if someone knows how to in Ubuntu 9.10 turn on and off only one of the wireless (bluetooth or wifi). Hardware switcher turn on-off both as same as Fn + F2. I want to safe some energy, when I run on battery...
Thank you

Bluetooth can be disabled with the following command:

sudo sh -c "echo 0 > /sys/devices/platform/asus_laptop/bluetooth"

To enable it again replace 0 with 1.

For wireless, right click network manager and select 'enable wireless' to uncheck it.

Re: Ubuntu 9.10 NBR

After installing nVidia drivers on Ubuntu 9.10 NBR, i got the effects running smooth
But, when i play any video file, i dont get the video. i can hear the audio. Its a very strange problem i guess. else the Ubuntu nbr is running very good. and faster boot up from the stock winxp i guess.

If you haven't installed, install VLC.
