Ok, I give up - why is no one complaining about the 'Intel Hybrid Graphics' popup that comes with this driver? Was it not there in the past or is there some way I can disable it somehow?
Basically it comes up every time you plug in/out or change from High Performance to some other mode or back in P4G - I just can't seem to get rid of it. It's a boomerang logo on the taskbar and a boomerang popup that says "Save Power" -> "Increased Performance" (yes, the grammer is wrong) - and it stays on the screen for at least a minute because its obviously not able to do anything since we don't have dynamic Hybrid graphics switching in the N10J.
I really liked being able to change to 1024x768 and that worked great - but this popup is non transparent, large (about 1/5 of the screen), dead center in the middle of the display and is up there so long at such random times when I really would like to see my screen... its terribly annoying. And even just to change back to an older version of the Intel driver and manually do the registry fix to add the 1024x768 I can't because there is no Intel driver on the ASUS site and the newest Intel Driver I installed today after this one added the utility also added the utility as well. I'll try uninstalling again and using Windows 7's Windows Update and see if that works - but ya, this is really annoying. I did an msconfig and cancelled all the Intel startup procs (even though I like having the Intel Graphics Taskbar Icon otherwise) and that seemed to help for a few minutes after boot - then it came up again anyway and the tray icon as well.
The process is nvvsrc.exe I think - I may try finding and deleting the file as well... Its an Nvidia helper that is detecting that it thinks we have Hybrid I think - it may be the latest Nvidia driver's fault possible - maybe why no one else reported it I suppose. And if was only activated or added when I installed this new Intel driver? It may also be that killing this means the Intel driver doesn't detect the Nvidia system so it gives up the switch. I don't know... I'm guessing here - it's very frustrating...
Please anyone - do you have any suggestions? Am I missing something simple, or is it only me with this problem?
Thanks,
Peter
