Topic: Ram question..in N10JC

In Australia here there is a big $200-$250 difference between the N10J and N10JC. I'm considering buying the N10JC but was wondering if the RAM is user replaceable. (ie. it isnt soldered on like some 'netbooks/notebooks' have it).

I had a look at the N10 manuals on the ASUS website but they're in Korean and Chinese and can't translate it because the PDFs are locked - how handy.

Id much rather buy some cheap ram from ebay and chuck it in, then spend the extra $250.

The RAM for all N10's is totally user replaceable. It is not soldered.

Must be between the N10J-A2 and the N10Jc

Re: Ram question..in N10JC

200-250 AUD translates to 130-160 USD.

Re: Ram question..in N10JC

Cool Cool. And even though the ASUS website says 1G RAM maximum for the JC it will still take 2G? I'm presuming it would as it would be stupid if it didn't.

And yeah thats 200-250 AUD I meant.

Yeah it's 2GB max. ASUS needs to fix that.

And one thing. Don't buy off ebay. Go to www.staticice.com.au to search for the cheapest prices in Aus. Some cheap stores are Fluidtek (in NSW), MSY (all over Aus), onlinevip.com.au (ships to everywhere in Aus, but located in NSW) and ITEstate (in NSW). As you can see, I only really pay attention to NSW stores since I live in NSW heh.

I'm thinking of buying the N10JC for $949 at MSY, and then buy another Kingston 2GB stick to put in for around $48 (also from MSY).
