Topic: ExpressGate / Splashtop resolution

I had posted this same question on forum.eeeuser.com.  The answer looks pretty difficult, extracting files from BIOS, modifying and then putting it back in...

But it would sure be nice to be able to run native resolution on splashtop (1024x600).  Currently, it seems like it is running 800x600 once you get onto the desktop.

FYI... Here's a thread about hacking express gate.  People have been able to swap out applications, bring up a console, change resolutions, etc.

Don't thank me yet!  None of it is N10 specific and all of it seems pretty involved.  smile  If you have any luck, don't forget to post back here!  I am waiting for an Asus update at some point.  tongue

i have been out there at other forums and websites and there are alot of different versions of express gatethat operate at different resolutions available any way of knowing if any of these will work th n10 i am afraid to try it. sent a question to splashtop, i think with now response.  the 600 x 800 really sucks

anyone got any other ideas, tried to talk with a support guy at asus in jeffersonville indiana and the stop sign down the street has more on the ball and knows more on the subject than he did, guess i'll try the mail box next.

really anyone got any ideas?

Hmph... typical... but you can't really expect the higher paid devs to answer the phones... the low paid employees handle that duty... or some outsourced outfit.

Splashtop seems to be all marketing and no functionality. tongue

Re: ExpressGate / Splashtop resolution

The idea of ExpressGate is great, but they really have to fix the resolution problem.

There's a lot wrong with it I think. Not just the resolution. I still think it starts up slow.

Re: ExpressGate / Splashtop resolution

I am trying to download the newest version of the ExpressGate now, it is taking forever! I will let you know the results once I update it.

Re: ExpressGate / Splashtop resolution

I downloaded a new one a couple of weeks back.  1.0.2.0... is that the one?  I think it's worth getting, not so sure about the aesthetics of the new theme, but it does seem snappier.  The resolution is still not fixed though, the option is no longer even there.

Yes, I just tried tried it out, the only changes is the theme. They better fix the resolution problem on the next update.
